Ramen-San - Chicago
A host of hip noodle spots has popped up in recent years, and Ramen-San is directly in the mix. The restaurant is one of several owned by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises' R.J., Jerrod and Molly Melman, and it attracts a nightlife-focused audience.
Situated on bustling Hubbard Street near sibling restaurants Bub City, HUB 51, Paris Studio and Three Dots and a Dash, Ramen-San offers 90 seats. It features traditional ramen dishes enhanced by house-made broths, all natural proteins, and traditional and non-traditional Japanese add-ons. In addition to ramen, the restaurant showcases dumplings, spicy Szechuan wings and smoked salmon nigiri.
The beverage program focuses on Japanese whiskey, Asian-inspired cocktails (think spiked yuzu lemonade and a suchu greyhound), local craft beers and Japanese beers.
Ramen-San's soundtrack is as important as the noodle program. Get ready for old-school vs. contemporary hip-hop.
